Maxxit Privacy Policy

Maxxit ("the App," "we," "us") is a fitness tracking application. This policy explains what data the App collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. We do not sell your personal data, ever.

1. Data We Collect

Account information. When you create an account with Sign in with Apple or Google Sign-In, we receive a unique account identifier, your display name, and (if you choose to share it) your email address.

Profile information. During onboarding you provide your date of birth, biological sex, body weight, training experience, training phase, and fitness goal. This is used solely to personalize your training defaults and coaching insights.

Workout data. Exercises, sets, reps, weights, session durations, cardio intervals, stretching and balance activities you log in the App.

Health data (Apple Health / HealthKit). With your explicit permission, the App reads health signals from Apple Health, including body weight, body fat percentage, height, heart rate, resting heart rate, heart rate variability, respiratory rate, blood oxygen, energy burned, steps, distance, flights climbed, exercise minutes, stand hours, sleep analysis, VO₂ max, and, if you authorize it, menstrual cycle data used only for recovery adjustments. The App can also write your completed workouts and body weight entries back to Apple Health.

Optional photos. If you opt in to Gym Validation, photos you take are analyzed to confirm a gym environment. This feature is off by default.

2. How HealthKit Data Is Handled

• Raw HealthKit data never leaves your device. It is read locally, processed locally, and displayed locally.
• Aggregated, derived statistics (such as your readiness score, 7-day average weight, or HRV baseline) are stored in the cloud only if you explicitly enable "Cloud Health Sync" in Settings. This is off by default.
• HealthKit data is never used for advertising or marketing, and is never shared with or sold to third parties, in accordance with Apple's HealthKit guidelines.
• You can revoke Health access at any time in the Health app (Sources → Maxxit).

3. How We Use Your Data

• To operate core app functionality (logging, history, progress tracking).
• To personalize training defaults, readiness scores, and coaching insights.
• To display your rank on the global leaderboard (display name, level, and XP only).
• To process purchases through Apple's StoreKit.
• To improve app reliability through aggregate, non-identifying diagnostics.

4. Third-Party Services

• Firebase (Google). Authentication and cloud database for account data, workout history sync, and the leaderboard.
• Sign in with Apple / Google Sign-In. Account authentication only.
• Apple StoreKit. In-app purchases and subscriptions. Payment details are handled entirely by Apple; we never see your payment information.
• Anthropic Claude API. If you use the AI fitness assistant, your chat messages and a summary of your recent training context are sent to Anthropic to generate responses. Raw HealthKit samples are not transmitted.

5. Data Retention & Deletion

Your data is retained while your account is active. You may delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings → Account & Privacy → Delete Account. Deletion removes your cloud data within 30 days. Local data is removed immediately when you delete the App.

6. Your Rights

You may request a copy of your data, correct inaccurate data, or request deletion by contacting us at [email protected]. If you are in a jurisdiction with specific privacy rights (e.g., GDPR, CCPA), we honor access, portability, correction, and erasure requests.

7. Children

Maxxit is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

8. Website Analytics

The maxxit.fit website measures visits using a cookieless analytics service (Umami). It does not use client-side identifiers or track you across sites, and it reports aggregate, non-identifying statistics only (such as page views and general location by country), never tying activity back to an individual visitor.

9. Changes to This Policy

We will notify you in the App of material changes to this policy. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
